Major Event Recap - Technology in Sport and Business

Last Friday, AFLConnect held a highly anticipated Major Event with a Technology in Sport & Business theme. The event brought together members of AFLConnect and guests for an afternoon of insightful discussions, networking, and interactive experiences.

The highlight of the event was an outstanding panel of industry experts, facilitated by Christelle Young, Chief Project Officer at T2 Tea. The panel featured Dr. Hugh Bradlow, former Chief Technology Officer and Chief Scientist at Telstra, Brad Moran, Founder of CitrusAd, and Georgina McEncroe, founder of Shebah. Their diverse perspectives provided valuable insights into the intersection of technology and business.

The event took place at The Glasshouse, a venue provided by The Big Group. Guests enjoyed a delicious three-course menu while creating new connections with like-minded businesses. The venue was transformed with a nod to technology, featuring visually appealing neon lighting and ceiling installations, all thanks to Harry the Hirer.

Following the panel, guests had the opportunity to hear from Rob Pickering, General Manager - Technology/Chief Technology Officer at the AFL. Rob discussed the technological advancements implemented at the AFL and Marvel Stadium over the past few years, highlighting the ongoing innovations in the sport.

AFL partner Telstra was also present, offering multiple interactive activations for guests to engage with and learn about. These activations showcased the significant technological impact Telstra is making in both the AFL and the broader business community. Additionally, the AFL Umpires Department provided a Virtual Reality experience, allowing guests to see a live game day scenario from an umpire's perspective.
