Last Thursday and Friday, AFLConnect travelled interstate to Adelaide for the opening game of Gather Round. This was followed by the Official Gather Round Business Lunch on Friday. 🏉 ✈
Event 1: Opening Game of Gather Round from the Bodyline Bar.
In a historic and exclusive setting at the Bodyline Bar, 110 senior leaders from AFLConnect member businesses gathered for an unforgettable experience. With prime ground-level views, attendees were treated to the highly anticipated opening game of Gather Round. It was a great opportunity to connect with so many of our AFLConnect business representatives local to Adelaide as well as those who had travelled for the occasion.
A huge thank you goes out to our special guests Jason ‘Dizzy’ Gillespie and Ruby Schlisher. Jason, a cricketing legend and proud South Australian, added a unique touch to the event, blending cricketing culture and theme of the room with the excitement of AFL. Meanwhile, Ruby lent her expertise from her tenure at Fox Sports, providing expert pre-game analysis.
The match finished up, however the night was not over for our members who were all granted exclusive access into the Pepsi Collective where the fun continued in the amazing indoor and outdoor bar setup behind the goals in the Adelaide Oval's William Magery Room. Each member also had access to a complimentary room at the Crowne Plaza Adelaide to get some rest before the 2nd event of the trip.
Event 2: Official Gather Round Business Lunch presented in collaboration with South Australian Business Chamber.
The festivities continued on Friday at the Adelaide Convention Centre, where over 800 attendees, including AFLConnect members, gathered for a memorable luncheon. The highlight of the afternoon was a captivating Q&A session featuring Peter Malinauskas and Andrew Dillon, followed by a panel discussion with AFL stars Christian Petracca, Daniel Motlop, and Matthew Richardson, along with North Melbourne CEO Jennifer Watt. All expertly moderated by Mark Howard and Sarah Jones.
None of this would have been possible without the fantastic support of our partners: Virgin Australia, Sharp EIT Solutions, Toyota Motor Corporation Australia, and Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
