AFLConnect Hosts Successful 'Coaching Through the Decades' Event at Marvel Stadium

*Melbourne, August 9, 2024* — AFLConnect drew a crowd of over 300 members and guests to Marvel Stadium on Friday for its highly anticipated event, "Coaching Through the Decades."

The event featured an engaging panel discussion with some of the AFL’s most respected figures. Mark Williams, Head of Development at Melbourne Football Club; Natalie Wood, Head Coach of the Essendon Football Club AFLW; and Michael Voss, Head Coach at Carlton Football Club, shared their insights and experiences from their extensive careers in football. The panel was moderated by Sarah Jones from Fox Footy.

The discussion delved into various aspects of coaching and playing over the decades, with the panelists offering a wealth of knowledge on their transitions from players to coaches, strategies for nurturing young talent, and their evolving leadership styles. Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from Josh Mahoney, General Manager of Football Operations at the AFL, who provided updates on the current AFL season and a preview of the upcoming AFLW season.
